Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Crisp Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valwood, Grace Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Crisp Academy Wildcats with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Hines Roberts made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Roberts was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Landon Temples and Daniel Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Temples went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Johnson went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Temples has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Oathen Atkinson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Grace Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Grace Christian Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-6 record. As for Crisp Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Grace Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Georgia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Crisp Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
