Vasquez had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt San Jacinto Valley Academy on Thursday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 38-13 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Mustangs, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Vasquez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zack Van Ornum led the charge by rushing for 198 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Van Ornum really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run. Jayden Lopez was another key back, rushing for 115 yards and three TDs on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vasquez was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 485 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Vasquez's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Isaiah Sanchez with two.

Vasquez's record is now 4-0. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Vasquez wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 44-0 win against California Military Institute on the 26th. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-6 victory against Temecula Prep on the 25th.
