Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Oconee County Warriors

The Jefferson Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Oconee County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Jefferson barely beat West Hall the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Jefferson never let West Hall get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Friday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Oconee County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Everything went their way against the Vikings as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Oconee County pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Jefferson might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Oconee County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
