Football Game Preview: Central York Panthers vs. Archbishop Hoban Knights

The Central York Panthers will square off against the Archbishop Hoban Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central York comes in on eight and Archbishop Hoban on five.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central York challenged Red Lion on Friday. The Panthers breezed past the Lions to the tune of 56-18. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

Central York can attribute much of their success to Legend Johnson, who rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and Brooklyn Nace, who threw for 140 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Nace is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games he's played. Hristos Panopoulus made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Hoban faced Glenville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights skirted past the Tarblooders 12-9. Those 12 points were actually the fewest the Knights have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Central York's record is now 8-0. As for Archbishop Hoban, their record now sits at 6-1.

Central York took a serious blow against Archbishop Hoban in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 41-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Knights' Brayton Feister, who rushed for 149 yards and one score.
