Basketball Recap: Hilmar Comes Up Short

Hilmar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pacific Grove Breakers. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Breakers from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Hilmar's record is now 0-6. As for Pacific Grove, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Hilmar won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carmel's defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so Hilmar's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pacific Grove, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Presentation at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pacific Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
