Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ambriah Lujan and Heather Jo Bush Lead Combs to Victory

There's no place like home for Combs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They snuck past the South Mountain Jaguars with a 47-43 victory on Tuesday. For the Coyotes, this counts as revenge for the 40-38 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Combs was led to victory by Heather Jo Bush and Ambriah Lujan. Bush dropped a double-double with 25 points and 18 rebounds, while Lujan posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Lujan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Combs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Combs pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for South Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Combs will head out to square off against Coronado at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Mountain, they will be playing at home against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
