Baseball Recap: Treutlen Falls Short of Emanuel County Institute in the Playoffs

Treutlen and Emanuel County Institute squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Treutlen had to settle for second. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Acie Dickens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Peyton Miller was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Treutlen's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Emanuel County Institute, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.
