Softball Recap: Gilmer Victorious

Gilmer was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past the King's Ridge Christian Tigers 2-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Sarah Dale, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory got Gilmer back to even at 7-7. As for King's Ridge Christian, they moved to 5-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Gilmer will challenge St. Pius X Catholic at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for King's Ridge Christian, they will square off against Northside at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
