Basketball Recap: Big Valley Takes a Loss

Big Valley was the 0-0 winner over Hayfork when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Big Valley Cardinals took a blow against the Hayfork Timberjacks on Friday, falling 56-11. The Cardinals' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.

Hayfork got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Bayley out in front who posted 13 points and six boards. Sidney Medellin was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven assists.

Big Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Hayfork, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Big Valley will take on Happy Camp at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Valley is facing Happy Camp at the right time seeing as Happy Camp is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hayfork, they will square off against Surprise Valley at 3:00 p.m. on January 25th.
