Softball Game Preview: Nashua-Plainfield Huskies vs. North Butler Bearcats

Nashua-Plainfield is 2-8 against North Butler since June of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Nashua-Plainfield didn't have quite enough to beat Northwood-Kensett and fell 4-3. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when North Butler took on Garner-Hayfield/Ventura on Saturday. The Bearcats blew past the Cardinals 9-2. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

North Butler pushed their record up to 12-8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Nashua-Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Nashua-Plainfield might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from North Butler when the teams last played on June 9th. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
