Buena Vista strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past the Steamboat Springs Sailors to the tune of 54-15. Considering the Demons have won four matchups by more than 38 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Buena Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Wingo, who threw for 115 yards and three TDs on only ten passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, Wingo racked up 147.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Eli Schuknecht helped Wingo out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

Buena Vista was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Steamboat Springs only rushed for 95.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Caleb Pierce, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Buena Vista's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Steamboat Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Buena Vista has already played their next game, a 48-7 victory against Rye on the 17th. As for Steamboat Springs, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Palisade at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so the Sailors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
