Softball Recap: Platteview Extends Winning Streak to Three

Platteview had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt South Sioux City on Saturday. The Trojans blew past the Cardinals 16-6. The win was just business as usual for the Trojans, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Maddie Romans was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savanna Alloway, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Platteview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Platteview's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for South Sioux City, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Platteview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 defeat against NEN on the 23rd. As for South Sioux City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-0 loss against Raymond Central on the 23rd.
