Softball Recap: Platteview's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Platteview put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the South Sioux City Cardinals with a sharp 16-6 win. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Maddie Romans and Savanna Alloway did most of the damage at the plate: Romans got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Alloway went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Alloway has posted since back in September of 2024. Elise Raszler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Platteview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Platteview's record is now 3-0. As for South Sioux City, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Platteview has already played their next contest, a 7-1 loss against NEN on the 23rd. As for South Sioux City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-0 defeat against Raymond Central on the 23rd.
