Soccer Game Preview: Le Mars vs. Unity Christian

The Le Mars Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Unity Christian Knights at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Le Mars put up the most goals they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 8-1 victory. The score was close at halftime, but Le Mars pulled away in the second half with six goals.

Meanwhile, Unity Christian entered their tilt with Sibley-Ocheyedan on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Generals an 8-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Unity Christian have won by exactly eight goals.

Unity Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1-2. As for Le Mars, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 2-3-1.

Le Mars came up short against Unity Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
