Preview: Clarion Area Bobcats vs. Clarion-Limestone Lions
Clarion Area is 9-1 against Clarion-Limestone since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Clarion Area Bobcats will be staying on the road to face off against the Clarion-Limestone Lions at 8:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Clarion Area was the victim of a tough 53-31 loss at the hands of Punxsutawney. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Clarion Area in their matchups with Punxsutawney: they've now lost five in a row.
Clarion Area's defeat came about despite a quality game from Taylor Alston, who scored 16 points. The match was Alston's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sophie Babington, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Clarion-Limestone, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 37-36 to Keystone.
Clarion Area now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Clarion-Limestone, they bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Clarion Area couldn't quite finish off Clarion-Limestone when the teams last played back in January and fell 33-31. Can Clarion Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
