For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cozad and Centennial meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Haymakers came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 8-4. The victory continues a trend for the Haymakers in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won six in a row.
Sara Howell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Howell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Hammerlun was excellent, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Clatyn Fleharty, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
