Basketball Recap: Cupertino Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cupertino, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Leigh Longhorns out 42-39. For the Pioneers, this counts as revenge for the 43-36 victory the Longhorns walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Leigh lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Catalina Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Williams a new career-high. Demi Dobrila was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Cupertino's record now sits at 2-3. As for Leigh, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Cupertino will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hillsdale at 11:30 a.m. on December 31st. As for Leigh, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-51 win against Leland on the 12th.
