Baseball Game Preview: Augusta Christian Lions vs. Bulloch Academy Gators

The Augusta Christian Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Bulloch Academy Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

If Augusta Christian beats Bulloch Academy with ten runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Augusta Christian didn't even let Heathwood Hall Episcopal on the board on Thursday, marking Augusta Christian's second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Lions' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Jayden Stone looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Duckworth, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Dehart, who scored two runs.

Meanwhile, Bulloch Academy never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Jenkins County as Bulloch Academy made off with a 10-0 victory. The Gators haven't had any issues with the War Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Bulloch Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Augusta Christian, their record now sits at an identical 3-0.

Everything went Augusta Christian's way against Bulloch Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as Augusta Christian made off with a 13-7 win.
