Basketball Preview: Penn-Trafford Warriors vs. McKeesport Tigers
Penn-Trafford has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the McKeesport Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Penn-Trafford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Penn-Trafford had to suffer through a rough 67-30 loss at the hands of the. Penn-Trafford has struggled against the recently, as their match on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Olivia Pepple, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Hanna Weishaar, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, McKeesport entered their tilt with the Jaguars with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. McKeesport put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 61-37 win on Thursday. Given McKeesport's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Penn-Trafford's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for McKeesport, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
