Basketball Recap: San Marin Continues Road Dominance on Friday

San Marin won the last time they faced Tamalpais and things went their way on Friday too. The San Marin Mustangs managed a 51-46 win over the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Red Tailed Hawks are ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Marin pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points per game. As for Tamalpais, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Marin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ukiah at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ukiah will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something San Marin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tamalpais, they are taking a road trip to square off against Terra Linda at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
