Soccer Game Preview: Hughson vs. Johansen

The Hughson Huskies will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Johansen Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Hughson fell victim to Ripon Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Knights an easy 4-0 win. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Johansen and Ceres finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw last Thursday.

Johansen's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-3. As for Hughson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Hughson came out on top in a nail-biter against Johansen in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hughson since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
