Basketball Game Preview: South Iredell Vikings vs. West Cabarrus Wolverines

South Iredell hasn't had much luck against West Cabarrus recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 8:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. South Iredell will be strutting in after a victory while West Cabarrus will be coming in after a loss.

South Iredell is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 79-77 win over West Iredell on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Warriors are ranked 155th).

Meanwhile, West Cabarrus came up short against Statesville on Friday and fell 58-45. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for South Iredell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

South Iredell came up short against West Cabarrus in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 60-49. Can South Iredell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
