Baseball Game Preview: Marion County Mustangs vs. Higbee Tigers

The Marion County Mustangs will face off against the Higbee Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion County is looking for their season's first win.

Marion County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Louisiana on Monday, falling 17-5.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous seven game, Higbee brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They won by a run and slipped past Wellsville-Middletown 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Higbee's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Corbin Imhoff was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Higbee let Cale Nelson and Tyler Diederich run wild. Nelson went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Diederich got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That's the most RBI Nelson has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Price, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Higbee's victory bumped their record up to 5-17-1. As for Marion County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
