Basketball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the York County Tech Spartans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-33 on January 10th.

York County Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faith Atwater, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. What's more, Atwater also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Anna Foster was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for York County Tech, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield has already played their next contest (against Delone Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. York County Tech has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Littlestown.
