Basketball Recap: Capistrano Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Capistrano Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Newport Christian Seahawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since November 17, 2023.

Capistrano Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Newport Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Capistrano Valley Christian will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Avalon at 11:00 a.m. As for Newport Christian, they will square off against Samueli Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
