Vincent Memorial stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Calipatria, posting a 53-16 victory on the road. Given Vincent Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Calipatria is ranked 1205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vincent Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paola Longoria, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Longoria is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Daniella Ortega, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything went Southwest EC's way against Calipatria on Wednesday as Southwest EC made off with a 45-22 win. The win was just what Southwest EC needed coming off of a 68-30 loss in their prior match.
Vincent Memorial's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Southwest EC, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-18.
