It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Valor Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Holy Family Tigers 4-3. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Elizabeth Canales spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Valor Christian let Abigail Watson and Maddie Andrews run wild. Watson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Andrews got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
