Baseball Recap: Cherokee Bluff Comes Up Short

Cherokee Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-5 to the East Forsyth Broncos. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 12-0.

Ethan Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Kaden Thompson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Cherokee Bluff's record is now 4-8. As for East Forsyth, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherokee Bluff will head out to square off against Monroe Area at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe Area has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.22 runs per game on average), something Cherokee Bluff will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Forsyth, they will head out on the road to face off against Flowery Branch at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
