Baseball Recap: Heritage Find Success

Heritage came out on top against Holtville on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Hawks took their matchup against the Bulldogs 8-3.

Thomas Strickland made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Asher Durham, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cole Bullock also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Heritage now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Holtville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Heritage will head out on the road to square off against Brookstone at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holtville, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Beulah at 4:00 p.m.
