Softball Recap: Fairfield Wins Going Away Against Fort Madison

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Van Meter, Fairfield was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Fort Madison Bloodhounds as they made off with a 12-4 win. Considering the Trojans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Madison, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairfield beat the Bloodhounds by a score of 8-0 later that day.
