Basketball Game Preview: Gilroy Mustangs vs. Del Mar Dons

Gilroy hasn't had much luck against Del Mar recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gilroy Mustangs will look to defend their home court against the Del Mar Dons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gilroy is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They fell 50-41 to Lincoln.

Meanwhile, Del Mar lost to Leigh at home by a 52-35 margin on Thursday. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gilroy will have to contain Zoey Hinkle as she made an impact in Del Mar's last game. She dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards. That was a full 65.7% of Del Mar's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chimaya Morgan, who put up two points along with nine boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Del Mar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matches.

Del Mar's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Gilroy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
