Softball Recap: Chouteau-Mazie Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Haskell, Chouteau-Mazie was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Rejoice Christian Eagles get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won 16 games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylee Detweiler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Detweiler was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Chouteau-Mazie got a big performance out of Kinzly Ellison, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Ellison has posted over her last 12 contests. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Shelton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Chouteau-Mazie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rejoice Christian only managed four hits.

Chouteau-Mazie pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Rejoice Christian, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Chouteau-Mazie has already played their next match (against Ketchum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Rejoice Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 7-4 victory against Bluejacket on the 19th.
