Jenkins had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Bryan County Redskins. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since February 26th.

Ronald Dunham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Marquis Bush was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Jenkins: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Jackson McKenzie was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Jenkins pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bryan County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-8.

Coincidentally, Jenkins and Bryan County will both be playing McIntosh County Academy the next time they take the field. Bryan County will host McIntosh County Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Jenkins will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
