Basketball Game Preview: San Juan Hills Stallions vs. Carlsbad Lancers

Having just played yesterday, the San Juan Hills Stallions will jump right back in to play the Carlsbad Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Juan Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, San Juan Hills beat Santa Margarita 55-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.

Anna Shreeve continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tatum Davis, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Carlsbad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. 2025 welcomed they with a 62-41 loss courtesy of Cathedral Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Dons are ranked 56th).

San Juan Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Carlsbad, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
