Basketball Recap: Gregori Piles Up the Points Against Turlock

Gregori lost to Turlock back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Gregori Jaguars claimed a resounding 56-27 victory over the Turlock Bulldogs. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Gregori to victory were Alanah Lopez and Veronica Whitten. Lopez went 8 for 14 on her way to 20 points and five steals, while Whitten posted six points in addition to nine boards and six assists. Those 20 points gave Lopez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Pacheco, who scored eight points and three steals.

Gregori smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Turlock's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Deja Cox, who put up nine points and eight rebounds, and Janessa Padilla, who earned four points.

Gregori's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Turlock, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Gregori has already played their next contest, a 53-41 victory against Enochs on the 21st. As for Turlock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-41 defeat against Pitman on the 21st.
