Recap: Delphi Community Oracles vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 13 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Delphi Community Oracles proved on Thursday. They blew past Frankfort, posting a 54-21 win at home. Given Delphi Community's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Frankfort is ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Delphi Community's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Roth led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists. The contest was Roth's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Pickering, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals.

When it comes to explaining why Frankfort lost, one person who can't be blamed is Saira Flores. Despite the final result, she scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Flores has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Delphi Community has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-3 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Frankfort, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.

Delphi Community will be playing in front of their home fans against Rensselaer Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frankfort, they will head out on the road to face off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
