Georgetown Day triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Madisyn Moore

Recap: Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers vs. Episcopal Maroon

The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Episcopal by a score of 74-67. Winning may never get old, but Georgetown Day sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Madisyn Moore continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Several Maroon players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Sawi, who scored 23 points along with two steals. That was a full 34.3% of Episcopal's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Princess Akojenu, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Georgetown Day has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Episcopal, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Georgetown Day will head out on the road to square off against The Academy of the Holy Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Georgetown Day has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 255 points over their last four matchups. As for Episcopal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holton-Arms at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Episcopal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
