Basketball Recap: Maclay Victorious

Maclay won the last time they faced Franklin County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Maclay Marauders came out on top against the Franklin County Seahawks by a score of 69-61.

Despite the loss, Franklin County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sadiq Jones almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in January of 2024. Ajaylen McNair was another key player, putting up four points and eight assists.

Maclay's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Franklin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Maclay will challenge Brookwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brookwood will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Maclay surely won't give up without a fight. As for Franklin County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-44 victory against Chipley on the 13th.
