Football Game Preview: Proctor Raiders vs. Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks

The Proctor Raiders will face off against the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Proctor has given up an average of 36.2 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Proctor came up short against Cicero-North Syracuse and fell 35-26. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Northstars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Proctor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Walter Phillips, who picked up 113 receiving yards and three scores, and Wyatt Robinson, who threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newburgh Free Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Valley Central 56-14. The Goldbacks haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Proctor's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Newburgh Free Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
