Soccer Recap: Fairmont Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Fairmont took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Elder, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Firebirds never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Saturday. Fairmont wouldn't have won without Grey Danner, who scored the game-winner.

The win (which was Fairmont's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matches. As for Elder, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-3.

Looking ahead, Fairmont will host Northmont at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairmont are facing Northmont at the right time seeing as Northmont are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Elder, they will square off against St. Xavier at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
