Baseball Recap: High Tech Mesa Triumphs

While High Tech Mesa's victory against Gompers Prep Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder had just enough and edged out the Eagles 11-9. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Devin Schiel made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on KJ Allen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. High Tech Mesa is 9-1 when Allen posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ricky De La Parra, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

High Tech Mesa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gompers Prep Academy only posted a batting average of .231.

High Tech Mesa's record is now 10-6. As for Gompers Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

High Tech Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-1 defeat against Coastal Academy on the 14th. Gompers Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
