Softball Recap: Polk County Takes a Loss

Polk County lost against Freeman back in August of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Slammers fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-6.

Polk County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazlyn Ramirez-Catlan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Kelsey Brehm also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Polk County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Freeman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Polk County is set to challenge their familiar foe Central City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Slammers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Freeman will take on rival Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
