Quince Orchard has gone 8-2 against Northwest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will host the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Quince Orchard's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Clarksburg, posting a 42-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won nine in a row.
William Drakeford Jr. looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 241 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Northwest's strategy against Walter Johnson on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Jaguars blew the Wildcats out of the water with a 41-6 final score. The Jaguars pushed the score to 34-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats had little chance of recovering from.
Quince Orchard better keep an eye on Jayden Vongprachanh-Nelson. He was instrumental in Northwest's win, throwing for 240 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 43 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing touchdowns Vongprachanh-Nelson has posted since back in October of 2024. Isaiah Taylor was another key player, rushing for 100 yards on only ten carries.
Northwest didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Walter Johnson to a completion percentage of just 38.9%. The Jaguars have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.64 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.64 in their last three games.
Northwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chris Tangelo and Isaiah Babcock. Babcock is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Northwest received some extra help from Aaron Tank Rivers, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Quince Orchard's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Northwest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
