Basketball Recap: Upper Lake Comes Up Short

Upper Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Middletown Mustangs, falling 47-21. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 960th, while the Mustangs are ranked 319th).

Upper Lake's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Middletown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upper Lake will host St. Helena at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Upper Lake is facing St. Helena at the right time seeing as St. Helena is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Middletown, they will be playing at home against Clear Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
