Softball Recap: St. Paul Has No Trouble Against Ord

St. Paul's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Ord Chanticleers with a sharp 9-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Avery Hansel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kamden Sack was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. Paul was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

St. Paul's record is now 11-12. As for Ord, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-24 record this season.

St. Paul will challenge Central City at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ord, they will face off against Grand Island Central Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.86 runs per game on average), something the Chanticleers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
