Football Recap: Simley Takes a Loss

The Simley Spartans took a blow against the Stewartville Tigers on Friday, falling 41-7. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 16th).

This is the second loss in a row for Simley and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Stewartville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Simley will be playing at home against North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stewartville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Faribault at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
