Basketball Recap: Holton-Arms vs. Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers

Holton-Arms are ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers. Holton-Arms took a 61-47 bruising from the Mighty Hoppers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Holton-Arms of the 59-29 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Georgetown Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cai Roberson, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberson has scored all season. Nevaeh Roberson was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Holton-Arms' loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Georgetown Day, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Holton-Arms will head out on the road to challenge the Saints at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 220th in Virginia, while the are ranked ninth in Maryland). As for Georgetown Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maroon at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Episcopal is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
