Basketball Recap: Enterprise Comes Up Short

Enterprise was the 60-59 winner over Chico when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Enterprise Hornets took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chico Panthers on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Enterprise saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carly Graham posted 17 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Graham also posted four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Lila Mcdaniels was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Chico's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayleigh Solano led the charge by posting 13 points and seven rebounds. Solano is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 57% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Josie Carlos, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points.

Enterprise dropped their record down to 11-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Chico, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.

Enterprise didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-38 win against Las Plumas on the 19th. As for Chico, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers duke it out with the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chico is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
