Basketball Recap: Garden Grove Comes Up Short

Garden Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Costa Mesa Mustangs 53-26. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Argonauts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-28 on January 7th.

Costa Mesa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Myah Martinez out in front who posted 13 points and seven steals. Those 13 points gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emi Kamikihara, who earned 15 points along with six boards and three steals.

Garden Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Costa Mesa, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garden Grove has already played their next matchup (against Laguna Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Costa Mesa has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Ocean View.
