Volleyball Recap: New Kent Starts off Right with Win over Gloucester

New Kent had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Gloucester Dukes 3-0 on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-5, 25-10, 25-20.

Leah Rounds paced New Kent's offense, picking up 12 kills. Rounds got some help from Desirae Stowe and her 12 assists. Stowe was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Gloucester's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. New Kent is set to challenge their familiar foe Poquoson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gloucester will face off against rival Grafton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
